January marks the start of the 'short dry season' in Tanzania, although the timings can be unpredictable. This is a greener, warmer time of year to be on safari with higher temperatures and less rain. The migrating herds can be found in southern Serengeti for calving season and it is a great time to visit Zanzibar.
