About

COMO Maalifushi is the inaugural Maldivian project of esteemed Japanese architect Koichiro Ikebuchi. Embracing his philosophy of a deep appreciation for nature and respect for cultural heritage, this secluded island sanctuary combines a minimalist and pristine aesthetic with low key sophistication and features multi-room villas both above water and in tropical gardens. Surrounded by uninhabited islands, world-class surf breaks, and thriving marine life, Maalifushi is designed to fulfil its guests' every wish be it sun-soaked relaxation, rejuvenating spa indulgence, or scuba diving adventures.

Rooms

With a mix of 65 suites and villas, either over water or beach side, and flexible options for families, there's something to suit all sunseekers. A testament to pared bare minimalism, each are meticulously constructed with tall rafters, exquisite teak floors, rich New Zealand pine, and traditional Kajan thatched roofs. Expansive floor-to-ceiling windows and generous outdoor decks merge interiors seamlessly with the natural surroundings. Each villa or suite comes with it's own private pool and decking area and bathrooms feature sunken marble baths and outdoor showers. The two bedroomed villas are ideal for families, whilst the four bedroomed COMO Residence caters for groups of up to 10.

Activities

The island's house reef is a real highlight and provides accessible snorkelling, and the resort is host to a Tropicsurf centre; the world-renowned surf school. Snorkelling, kayaking and paddle-boarding are all complimentary, and three complimentary snorkelling boat trips are offered per week. Other watersports including water-skiing, wake-boarding and tube rides can be arranged at the dive centre, as well as a number of boat excursions, including sunset dolphin cruises and game fishing. The award winning COMO Shambhala spa allows you to indulge Asian inspired treatments, plus the spa also offers daily complimentary yoga. Younger guests (4-12) benefit from Play by COMO's thoughtfully curated programmes and for teens there's a games room with TVs and pool table.
