Denis Private Island
Denis Private Island is low key, family run and big on sustainability. Far flung, it can be found on the second most Northern remote island in the Seychelles - a short 30-minute plane ride from the mainland Mahé.
About
Set in a natural paradise, Denis Private Island is an exclusive 375-acre eco retreat, with a conservation ethic that can be seen in the 23 free-standing cottages, the food, and the activities. This is the place to go off grid, there's no signal for your mobile phone, no in-room internet or cable TV. It's the place to give back to nature, bathe along pristine beaches, snorkel in a sea turtle sanctuary or spot some of the rarest birds on the planet.
Rooms
With a nod to Seychelles' colonial past, the spacious 23 free-standing cottages and villas feature furniture and wood flooring fashioned just a few hundred metres away at the island’s carpentry workshop. Enjoying total privacy, all cottages have open-air bathrooms and garden courtyards and are dotted along various walking distances from the beach and separated by the island’s vegetation.
Activities
The PADI Dive Center offers snorkelling and diving lessons for all levels of divers. White-tip sharks, rays, and turtles may be found in the island's surrounding coral, and kayaking, sailing, and catch-and-release game fishing are all on offer. On dry land, there's tennis, biking, and pool. The possibility to unwind is provided by the spa and wellness services, and the home grown produce will be sure to tantalise tastebuds.
