Founded by the late safari legend Oliver Fessenden, Oliver’s Camp is rooted in traditional safari values: expert guiding, respect for the environment and an emphasis on meaningful wildlife encounters. The camp operates with a low-impact ethos and an intentionally understated style, allowing the surrounding wilderness to take centre stage. Its remote location ensures an exclusive experience, with few other vehicles and a strong sense of discovery on every drive or walk.

Rooms

Accommodation consists of spacious canvas tents set beneath shady trees and positioned for privacy and views across the bush. Each tent features comfortable beds, en-suite bathrooms with flush toilets and safari-style bucket showers, and simple but tasteful furnishings that reflect classic safari design. The overall feel is warm, practical and atmospheric, offering authentic bush character.

Dining

Dining at Oliver’s Camp is relaxed and communal, with meals served in the open-sided mess tent or outdoors beneath the stars. The food is hearty, well-prepared and perfectly suited to safari days, often accompanied by fireside storytelling and lantern-lit evenings. Bush breakfasts and sundowners in scenic locations add to the sense of adventure and connection to the landscape.

Activity

Activities focus on deeply immersive safari experiences, with expertly guided game drives revealing Tarangire’s exceptional wildlife, including elephants, lions, leopards, buffalo and abundant birdlife. Guided walking safaris are a standout feature here, offering an intimate way to explore the bush on foot and understand the finer details of the ecosystem.
