Kwara Camp
Kwara Camp is located on the enormous Kwara concession in the north-east of the Okavango Delta. Positioned in the southern region of the concession alongside its sister camp, Splash, Kwara Camp is ensconced beneath towering trees, boasting stunning vistas of floodplains and a lagoon at the forefront.
Following a redesign in 2019, Kwara Camp has reemerged, reclaiming its position as a premier destination within one of the most abundant concessions in the Okavango Delta.
Camp
Nestled among a canopy of leadwood, mangosteen, and knobthorn trees, the main area of the camp offers a tranquil retreat with a cozy, down-to-earth ambiance. The bar and lounge provide a perfect setting to relax between adventures, while the adjacent curio shop offers a selection of local crafts and souvenirs for those with a penchant for shopping. From the thatched dining room, elevated and offering unobstructed views of the lagoon, guests can enjoy their meals while soaking in the surrounding natural beauty. However, the true heart of the camp lies at the sandy fireplace, where guests gather for early morning breakfasts and evening drinks under the starlit sky.
Rooms
Eight well-appointed tents are strategically spaced amidst the evergreen feverberry and mangosteen trees, each offering an elevated perspective of the sprawling floodplain and serene lagoon. The tents, though simple in design, provide comfortable accommodations featuring spacious double beds and en-suite bathrooms equipped with refreshing open-air showers. For a touch of luxury, the honeymoon tent boasts an outdoor bathtub. Each tent also features a cozy veranda with deck chairs, seamlessly connected to the bedroom through a large mesh sliding door, allowing ample natural light and a sense of spaciousness.
Activity
Kwara Camp offers an array of activities sure to satisfy every adventurer. Led by expert guides and trackers, game drives rival the best in Botswana, offering sightings of iconic wildlife against the picturesque backdrop of the Delta. Navigate the labyrinthine channels and crystal-clear lagoons by motorboat, spotting hippos and crocodiles, or try your hand at fishing. For a serene experience, embark on a mokoro excursion, gliding through shallow floodplains, or invigorate your senses with a guided wilderness walk, immersing yourself in the untamed beauty of the Okavango Delta.
