Kichwa Tembo is a luxury 40-room tented camp located in the Mara North Conservancy, offering an immersive experience that combines luxury accommodation with wildlife encounters and cultural insights.
This is a great luxury value option, particularly for families. However, do note there are 40 rooms, meaning a slightly less intimate experience.
The Camps
The main area at Kichwa Tembo stands out with its high thatched roof, cozy armchairs, an intimate bar, and a dining space where you can savor Pan-African cuisine prepared in an interactive kitchen. Alternatively, dine outdoors on the deck and watch the warthogs graze nearby. The camp also features a rim-flow pool, a 'massage' tent, and evening entertainment that includes Maasai performances.

Accommodations:The camp boasts 40 canvas tents, each equipped with wooden floors, spacious beds, seating, ample storage, and en-suite bathrooms with twin basins and showers. Private decks provide views of the surrounding wilderness. Three family tents are available for those traveling with children.
The Activities
Kichwa Tembo offers a range of activities to explore the Masai Mara's natural beauty. Day drives allow you to follow the Great Migration, while night game drives provide opportunities to spot nocturnal animals. Guided walking safaris offer an up-close encounter with the Masai Mara's pristine landscapes. Photography enthusiasts can join specialized safaris, and birding enthusiasts can spend mornings with a specialist. Hot air ballooning, village visits, and candlelit bush dinners complete the experience.
