Omaanda

About

Designed to reflect the rich cultural heritage of Namibia, Omaanda comprises 15 individual thatched huts inspired by traditional Owambo architecture. The lodge is nestled within the Zannier Reserve, a private wildlife conservancy dedicated to the preservation of native flora and fauna. Through a partnership with the N/a’an ku sê Foundation, guests have the opportunity to engage in unique conservation experiences, such as tracking elephants, rhinos, and big cats, all led by knowledgeable guides. The lodge’s proximity to Windhoek makes it an ideal starting or ending point for a Namibian adventure.

Rooms

Omaanda offers twelve one-bedroom and three two-bedroom huts, each thoughtfully designed to provide comfort and privacy. Constructed using traditional materials, the huts feature rounded walls and hand-finished thatched roofs, seamlessly blending with the natural surroundings. Interiors are adorned with curated African artifacts and neutral tones, creating a warm and inviting ambiance. Each hut includes a spacious bedroom with a king-size bed, a walk-in dressing area, an open fireplace, and an en-suite bathroom equipped with a walk-in shower, double sinks, and a large bathtub offering panoramic views of the savannah. Private terraces allow guests to relax while observing the diverse wildlife that frequents the nearby waterholes.  

Dining

The culinary experience at Omaanda is a celebration of local flavors and international cuisine, served in a variety of picturesque settings. The on-site restaurant, Ambo Delights, offers a menu that showcases fresh, locally sourced ingredients, including Namibian specialties and globally inspired dishes. Guests can enjoy their meals in the elegant dining area or opt for al fresco dining on the terrace, which provides stunning views of the surrounding landscape. The lodge also features a cozy bar and a traditional boma, where guests can unwind with a selection of fine wines and handcrafted cocktails, sharing stories of the day’s adventures under the starlit sky.  

Activities

Omaanda offers a range of curated activities designed to immerse guests in the natural beauty and cultural richness of Namibia. Daily game drives provide close encounters with the reserve’s diverse wildlife, including elephants, rhinos, giraffes, and various big cat species. For a more intimate experience, guided bush walks allow guests to explore the flora and fauna up close, learning about the ecosystem’s intricacies. The lodge’s spa offers treatments inspired by local healing traditions, providing relaxation and rejuvenation amidst the tranquil savannah.
