Saseka Tented Camp

About

Saseka takes the traditional tented safari concept and gives it a distinctly contemporary interpretation. Canvas, stone, timber and extensive glass are used throughout, creating stylish spaces that remain connected to the surrounding wilderness. The main lodge features generous indoor and outdoor living areas, a bar, dining spaces and swimming pool overlooking a busy waterhole, while the relatively small number of guests ensures the atmosphere remains peaceful and personalised.

Rooms

Accommodation comprises nine luxurious tented suites, including a separate two-bedroom Leadwood Villa designed for families or small groups. The individual suites are exceptionally spacious, combining canvas walls with contemporary interiors, large bedrooms, elegant bathrooms with indoor and outdoor showers and private decks with their own plunge pools. The two-bedroom villa provides additional privacy with its own living and dining areas, swimming pool and dedicated facilities, creating a more exclusive safari experience for those travelling together.

Dining

Dining is relaxed and flexible, with meals served in different locations around the camp and out in the bush whenever possible. Guests might enjoy breakfast following a morning game drive, a leisurely lunch overlooking the waterhole or dinner beneath the stars in the boma. Menus combine contemporary cuisine with South African flavours, accompanied by a good selection of local wines, while private dining can also be arranged.

Activity

Morning and afternoon game drives explore Thornybush’s wildlife-rich landscapes, with opportunities to encounter lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo and rhino alongside wild dog, giraffe and abundant plains game. The reserve forms part of the Greater Kruger ecosystem, allowing wildlife to move naturally through a vast unfenced wilderness. Experienced guides and trackers lead each safari, while guided bush walks provide an opportunity to experience the smaller details of the environment on foot.
