Complete with a bar and a comfortable lounge, the outside boasts a delightful garden, a pool, and breathtaking views of Kilimanjaro.
Rooms
Under deep oval thatched roofs, the 16 tents provide a haven. Each features a main bedroom with the option of a double or twin beds (which can be adjoined), an en-suite bathroom, and a veranda. The family tent comprises two bedrooms, both with en-suite bathrooms, while the private house offers two bedrooms, a spacious sitting/dining area, and a veranda. With hardwood floors, inviting beds, and delightful fabrics, the interiors exude warmth.
Activity
Exploration is a must in Amboseli and the private 30,000-acre (121,000-square-kilometer) game concession surrounding Tortilis. Engage in safari drives and game or birdwatching walks led by knowledgeable local guides, primarily Masai. The open-sided safari vehicles come equipped with photographic equipment stands. Venture to local Masai homesteads for insights into their ancient way of life, and acquire some of their exquisite beadwork and vibrant shukkas (blankets worn as clothing). Upon returning to camp, unwind by the pool and spa or find repose in the various relaxation areas.
